So my dad has new clients and their son is transgender. He got pregnant with his boyfriend and put the baby up for adoption and the baby was adopted by a gay couple….which means that his baby daughter has 4 dads and no mom.
This kid is going to own at the ‘my dad can beat up your dad’ game.
Can you imagine if the families stay in touch and have a reunion someday, and the poor kid has to sit there and listen to FOUR dads telling awful jokes all day?

I have in my own heart a world that is deep, dark and rich. And you, in your heart, have a world that is also deep, dark and rich. So in that sense, even if I’m living in Tokyo and you are living in New York, Timbuktu or Reykjavik, Iceland, it means that we each hold inside ourselves something that is the same in nature or quality, regardless of place. And if we trace that quality to a much deeper place, we will discover that we live in a common world.
Random thoughts on YOI
Imagine if the anime had really shown us how multilingual Yuri, Victor and the other characters are. As someone who speaks 3 languages, it would have been AMAZING to see an anime that really shows the ups and downs of the language barriers in new relationships.
Just picture yourself Victor jumping from Russian to English and Japanese with ease, while Yuri is a nervous wreck when he needs to speak anything apart from his native tongue. :,3
But as a filmmaker I do understand how difficult this would have been writing and casting wise. There is a reason why we only got a few words/phraces in Russian/English/Thai/Spanish/etc ((but French still managed to get in several sentences because French)). It would have been lovely thou.
EDIT: People have told me that it´s basically canon that Victor does not speak Japanese, and that him and Yuri actually speak English when they are together. I do not doubt this (I had my suspicions that this was the case), but that is not what I was referring to with this post.
What I want is for them to ACTUALLY SPEAK ENGLISH! I want to HEAR the characters change languages. I want to HEAR Yuri getting used to talking English. I want to HEAR Victor speak Russian when he talks to Yurio. I do not want to “imagine that they are speaking English” - I want to experience it!
I know I know: “Too much work”, “Main demographic is Japanese” and “suspension of disbelief”, but that is still what I would have loved to see/hear.
